What is the U.S. Particle Accelerator School?
The U.S. Particle Accelerator School (USPAS) is a national graduate-level program that provides training and workforce development in the science and technology of charged particle accelerators and associated systems.
Particle accelerators are important tools for research and technology in today’s world, but courses to prepare the next generation of researchers, designers, and scientists in typically not found in standard curricula. The USPAS provides intensive classes to train studies to work in this exciting field.
Held at different locations each year, a variety of students come from all over the world to attend. They hail from universities, labs, private companies, government agencies, and other institutions.
Teaching and Sirepo
In addition to student scholarships, RadiaSoft supports USPAS in even more direct ways. Our CEO David Bruhwiler has co-taught classes like Simulation of Beam and Plasma Systems and courses routinely use Sirepo as a tool for instruction.
